Description

♻️ Used containers, a responsible choice Choosing to buy a used 40 ft DRY Class C container is a responsible decision. After 10 to 15 years of maritime service, these containers leave the shipping circuit even though they can still be used for many more years. Reusing them avoids producing new equipment and fits into a circular-economy approach. A simple way to reduce your environmental impact while enjoying a low-cost storage space. 💁 Used 40 ft container: who is it for? The used 40 ft DRY shipping container is aimed at anyone looking for a low-cost, large-volume storage solution. On the professional side, it is widely used on construction sites and farms to store equipment or supplies that do not require complete protection from moisture. On the private side, it can be installed on a plot of land to store furniture, tools or bulky items. It is a practical solution for gaining a large, functional and accessible storage area. 📐 What is a DRY container? For a 40 ft used DRY non-watertight container (Class C), the DRY designation means it is a standard-height model. With an internal height of 2.39 m, it covers classic storage needs without unnecessary extra volume. More compact than a High Cube, it has the advantage of avoiding additional transport or installation constraints. It is therefore a simple, reliable and widely available solution for everyday use. 🏅 Container condition: what does Class C mean? A 40 ft used “Class C” shipping container is a unit showing very pronounced wear: impacts, rust, damaged flooring, doors that open with difficulty… After many years in maritime transport, this type of container is generally aimed at applications where watertightness or visual appearance is not a priority. It is particularly suited to projects requiring modifications such as cuttings, conversions or custom transformations. It is also the most economical solution to benefit from a large storage volume while keeping a solid base for projects on a tight budget. 🔍 Is this used shipping container inspected? 40 ft DRY Class C used containers are not given a full overhaul before being put on sale. With a very pronounced level of wear, they are offered as-is, with no watertightness guarantee. They are therefore not certified “wind & watertight” (WWT) and no longer meet the requirements for maritime use. Their condition may call for repairs or adjustments depending on the intended project. 🎨 Can I choose the colour of my container? The colour of a used 40 ft container cannot be chosen in advance. Coming from maritime transport, these containers are supplied in their original state, with a shade often linked to their former shipping company: blue, green, red, burgundy… The exterior appearance may be heavily marked by time and use, with worn paint, faded areas or visible rust marks. Available containers are randomly selected from our depots based on incoming stock. If aesthetics is a key element of your project, you might prefer a one-trip container, which lets you choose a colour from the RAL chart. 🔧 How to maintain a Class C used container? The 40 ft DRY Class C used container shows very pronounced wear and generally requires refurbishment to be fully usable. Maintenance here is part of a repair-and-improvement logic, aimed at adapting the container to your use case. It is often necessary to treat corrosion areas (sanding, anti-rust treatment, painting), but also to work on the structure if needed: filling perforations to restore some watertightness, repair or partial replacement of the flooring, adjustment of doors or locking systems.
